T-Line Waveforms--End termination is less sensitive to delay balance

(Originally published in EDN Magazine)

End termination is less sensitive to delay balance

The end-terminated case is not quite so sensitive to delay in the end segments. Let’s keep the unbalanced line lengths (0.75 and 1.25 ns from B-C, and B-D, respectively), but go back to a 100-ohm termination at each endpoint, and a direct hook-up (no resistor) at the driver.

End termination is less sensitive to delay balance Figures
